Creating A Great Stress-Free Wedding
July 2, 2007
When a man and woman choose to get married after becoming engaged they feel happy about what they are about to decide to do. However, sometimes stress comes into our lives with parents sometimes trying to dominate or put in what they expect. This is understandable from the daughter’s parents, after all they are about to have their daughter marry and move away. As parents they may have different ideas for the wedding, which the engaged couple about to get into marriage might not necessarily want in the planning of the wedding.
Wedding planning is an emotional rollercoaster that the entire family will ride. The bride and groom must understand their parent’s desires and wishes, and plan with all of this in mind. Marriage is supposed to be a life commitment between two people and that’s why stress comes with the planning. The parents want to help plan what they hope will be their daughters only wedding. This is a time when the groom-to-be must be supportive of his spouse. The groom should be a good listener and stay out of all the planning unless the groom is paying for the wedding. Most of the wedding planning details probably won’t even matter to the groom.
Wedding Planning Decisions
When during the wedding planning it becomes apparent that decisions won’t be easy to make, the bride-to-be must have the final decision. It is her wedding and that is that. Something that’s really hard is to make decisions without stepping over other people. Wedding planning can be compared to the details involved in ending a war - this of course may seem funny but when planning for the big day, it can seem bigger than anything.
Getting married can be funny at some moments up to the point of marriage. The planning process leading up to the wedding can get crazy at times, especially more closer to the wedding. Keeping calm and centred will help you keep your cool and stay in control and have a great wedding. Planning a wedding is something that you will hopefully only have to do once. This is why it can become so tense during the planning process. We soon find we understand what our parents where going through when they where getting married. The best thing that you can do is to keep calm and enjoy the memorable event. Your wedding is the very best day and make sure you have that, until a child comes along. Then a new child in your life will mean a new marriage.
